Established in 1971, The Coe Review was created to publish fiction and poetry from Coe College students and has since expanded to accept work from writers and poets across the world. The inspiration for this magazine comes from Coe College’s close proximity to the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, as well as Coe graduate and distinguished poet Paul Engle. Today, The Coe Review is managed, edited, and produced entirely by Coe students.
